The organization, GOTRIbal^TM www.gotribalnow.com, was officially begun only four weeks ago in San Diego County and is now in ten countries, 33 states, and numerous cities across with world, with one of the newest TRIbes being in New Zealand.  

Chrissie Wellington, their biggest supporter and official spokesperson, burst onto the triathlon scene in 2007 with a definitive win in the most prestigious stage of triathlon competitions, the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. Her infectious smile and welcome message greets women as they join the global TRIbe on their social community site www.gotribalnow.com. "I'm so proud and excited to be involved in the development of GOTRIbal. Triathlon is not just a sport. It is a means to build bridges, break down barriers and change lives," says Wellington. 

Tanya wanted to build an organization that would empower women all over the world to do something they thought was impossible - triathlon. "Triathlon is really a metaphor for everything else in life that seems impossible," says Tanya Maslach, founder of GOTRIbal^TM. Their mantra "Experience Triathlon...Live life" represents that belief. "I wanted women around the world to experience the meaningful, intimate relationships that foster new ways of thinking about what's possible so that they, and hopefully their communities, would be transformed."

GOTRIbal^TM aims to break down the physical, psychological and even financial barriers existing for women in multi sport. Furthermore, with its active TRIbal Chiefs and Pay it Forward process, GOTRIbal^TM provides engaged role models and mentors to newer women athletes around the world, and aims to improve the statistic that only 4% of sports coverage in national and local print media is dedicated to women's sport.
