Looking for some local knowledge please. Can any one suggest some off road/trail runs in Dunedin district (out of town is good) for me to explore while on holiday down your way. Also any cool camping spots (facilities imaterial). Thank you.

hey there yeah, that book is the best way to go ... i do a bit of running round the ross creek tracks (cos they're close to work) but from there ya can go up to the pineapple track and the options are endless from there! swampy summmit perhaps or whare flat is another great area, and the silverpeaks have some great tracks too...these are pretty much all side by side really, and a brilliant part of dunners and most will be in the book. but parts can get exposed so take some warm gear just in case... enjoy...

Dunedin has some of the best off-road running in New Zealand, if you can get a copy of "from sea to silverpeaks" which has descriptions maps of all the tracks. Try the DOC office in lower Stuart Street.

No worries
Get a topo map, run past Ross Creek, up Pineapple, over Swampy and keep on running into the Silverpeaks, you can eventually come out at Careys creek north of Waitati then hitch back into town.
Its a long day
