Skills Training Excursions

Do your paddling, cycling/mountain biking or mountain running skills need some work? Further honing of skills and conditioning the body to the rigors of the discipline is one of the main areas that can benefit multisporters in the lead up to race day.

Paddling - Are you one of the many who are challenged by grade 2 water or perhaps you have just moved up to a new sleeker kayak and desperately require more quality white water time under expert instruction to get up to scratch. Refine you river-reading skills and learn to instinctively use or counter the hydraulics to your advantage, pick safe fast lines, and improve your boat handling through rapids. Boost your kayaking confidence no end, so you can tap the full extent of your performance potential on moving water, shaving minutes off your paddle time.

Cycling/Mountain Biking - Having difficulties mastering either on or off-road skills on two wheels? Do you need help attaining the fundamental road cycling skills, learning some of the unwritten rules to bunch riding, or picking up the key tricks to mountain biking well. Learn to ride safely, at speed, in control and with confidence.

Running/Trekking - New to the challenge of off-road running/trekking and want to learn some tricks to moving quickly through bush, over riverbeds and boulders, up-steps, down scree, plus river-crossings. Improve your route choice and foot eye coordination, cutting minutes off your travel time.

Navigation - Need to brush up on your navigation skills. Pick up some helpful pointers and fundamental rules of thumb to make your experience navigating in the outdoors more rewarding and enjoyable.

$245.00 – half day (5-6 hours)
$345.00 - full day (8-9 hours)

All excursions from Central North Island
(Maximum group size of 3 of similar ability on water or 4 of similar ability on foot or bike)

Note 1: Personal vehicles may be required on occasion to necessitate various shuttles during the process of some skills training trips.

Alternatively the cost can be made totally dependent on the time and distance travelled by vehicle, and length of time instructing. This means excursions can be customized to meet client’s needs and the expense of which relates to the distance and time taken on the trip and number of participants (I.e., the total costs can be shared by all members on the trip).
