Bozzone crash will see him miss Ironman NZ

Former world champion Terenzo Bozzone is out for the remainder of the season due to a crash that will see him miss Ironman NZ

In my final preparation for Ironman 70.3 Bahrain and Nutri-Grain Ironman 70.3 Taupo I took a spill out riding last week. I didn't think it was going to be a major and I thought my body would bounce back quickly after a couple easy days. Unfortunately I went out over the weekend to see how bad things really were and it isn't looking good. My Argon 18 bike came out without a scratch and I suppose something had to break the fall and take the grunt of it.

My hip is still badly bruised. I tried to do a couple workouts over the weekend but found I could not ride in the aerobars or run at any decent pace. I spent yesterday in and out of the doctors and coaches office and they have advised me to take it easy for a couple weeks to make sure I can start my build up for next season without anything hindering my preparation.
This is really tough for me as after all the change ups with the race schedule through the year I was looking forward to finishing the season strong.

I will still be making the trip to Bahrain to support the Bahrain Endurance 13 team and I am hopeful to do the swim at Nutri-Grain Ironman 70.3 Taupo in a team.
